“I have come away from each WISE weekend feeling renewed in body, mind, and spirit. Listening to amazing, creative women speaking from their hearts about their experiences is inspiring. As one who feels called to promote peace and social justice, I need WISE to renew my faith, hope and creative energy.”
~ Barbara Hildt, Amesbury, MA

About WISE

WISE started seven years ago as the brainchild of Anna Smulowtiz, who was studying at CHIME, the Interfaith Chaplaincy Institute of Maine, to become an interfaith minister. Anna says, “I wanted to bring together a group of like-minded women from the community, to create a vision of spirituality, collaboration, and social activism that crossed religious boundaries, while at the same time, taking the time to nurture ourselves and have fun!”

WISE has since evolved into a grassroots nonprofit community endeavor, with a volunteer planning committee and co-chairs that rotate every year. This year’s Planning Committee members are:

WISE 2010 Director

Sherry Bonder

WISE 2010 Planning Committee Members:

Janice Anderson
Carol Ballantyne
Barbara Hopkinson
Julie McConchie
Kathleen Miller
Nelda Quigley
Joanne Rowley
Anna Smulowitz
